We currently have a non profit organization, fully registered with the IRS, that provides cash incentives to youth involved in agriculture husbandry, primarily Goats. These awards are presented at Goat shows across the country. So far this year we have donated over $400.00 in cash prizes to “Premier Youth Exhibitors”. We will be donating another $ 300.00 - $400.00 at the local fair to replace showmanship and herdsmanship awards for the local goat exhibitors that were cancelled by the local fair board.
We make these awards in the name of the “Central Washington Caprine Youth Awards”. We accept donations from any one wishing to make donations to help the youth. You can send them to Sandy, the President of the organization, at the address on the Contact Us Page. So far this year we have donated to shows in Georgia, Minnesota, and Washington. Remember, all of your donations are tax deductible.
The criteria for our awards to your show is fairly simple. You must have a clearly defined youth program. We want the award based on the youth participation based on care of their own animals, helping other people, both in and out of the show ring, helping to educate the public about their animals, and general overall attitude in the barn. We leave the method for determining the winner to the show committee. Some have used individual ballots from contestants. Others have used special judges. We also require a picture of the winner that we can use on our website to help promote the project. The winners identity will be fully protected. Their name or any other identifying information will not be used. If there is a show program, we would also like to have a copy of that.
If you wish to nominate your youth show for an award, please complete the Donation Form, and send it to Sandy@RafterCSJ.com. . We will provide as many “Premier Youth Awards” as we can afford, depending on donations we receive.
